Every day from the moment you wake up and to the moment to bed, one
things you never
miss is the food on your plate. Foods are
very important in that it’s the basic component of our life. However, what if
the foods are all artificially cultivated? Do you still want to eat it? This
new type of modified foods is called genetically modified organism (GMO). So
let go and find out what is GMO.
Genetically Modified Organism (GMO) is an
organism whose genetic material has been altered using genetic engineering
techniques. This technology is not limited with food it also included with
field of many scientific researches such as animal cloning and medical
purposes. However in our article lets focuse on the modified foods
The regular foods are cultivated in a way
of using conventional methods such as selective / natural breeding and mutation
breeding. These methods have been used
for thousands of years by our ancestors. However, after human was able to
modifying DNA cells everything we understand about organism -such as foods- was
changed.
Plants are now can be engineered for insect
resistance, fungal resistance, viral resistance, herbicide resistance, changed
nutritional content, improved taste, and improved storage. In other word
altering the laboratory for desired qualities is the key concepts in GMOs food.

served on our table. Nevertheless, its influence was enormous.

company owns the 25%of the world seeds.
Since GMO technology is a very newly adapted
in our society. Therefore there are intense contrast opinions about GMO.

1: It’s very productive
- GMO technology able framers to grow crops with higher yield, with
less fertilizer, less risk of pesticides, and more nutrients.
2: GMO is fast and efficient
- Traditional breeding take longer time because it take several
generations to effectively bring out the offspring before they can bred.
However, with GMO technology, the desired type “genotype’ can be created
instantly
3: can help shortage of food
- By using GMO food can endure any weather and temperature. Thus
places such as Africa can solve the problem in famine
4: GMO is not poison
- GMOs have been on the market since 1994, so far there is not a
single reported case of health threat

1: GMO is unhealthy
- Studies have found that GMO cause dangerous poison to the rats. And
also in other animal testing have conducted causing serious kidney and liver
problem.

people who are either allergic to one of the components of the GMO or in people
who are allergic only to the new substance
- According to lowa state university Some GMO foods have had
antibiotic features added to them so they are resistant to certain diseases and
viruses. When humans eat them, these antibiotics features persist in our bodies
and make actual antibiotic medications less effective,

- GMOs transfer genes in very unpredictable ways. Scientist
transferring genes not only in same species but in hole other kingdom. This
transformation can produce genes that never exist in a nature.

So should we be eating GMOs food?
I think people react more seriously when it comes to biotechnology because some
people consider changing something inside the cells is unnatural, and it is
beyond our human power. But I think that kind of thinking is so wrong
Since genetic modification is a field of area which is
made not so long ago people
might felt different in kind, but its technology purposes were actually
revolutional
in agriculture.
In the old days framers were always worried about the
pest, temperatures and many other things that can destroy crops. However, by
using GMO technology all these problems were solved. Besides, human population
is immensely increasing in number in order to supplying its demand GMOS
technology is very necessary.
Yet it is true
that GMOs technology have unpredictable effects on both plants and human. But
technology is keep going to be develop, even today scientist and researcher is
keep working on to eliminate its problems. Besides since the introduction of
the GMOs technology there was not a single reported that people suffer from
GMOs foods.

is bad because they heard
people say it is bad, and they could not speak more about the detail and the
facts of its issues. Thus I think people made GMOs food issue little
exaggerated
